Organised visits

The Šafran Winery has a hall that can be used for meetings or seminars, which seats up to 60 persons. We are also able to organise receptions for you.

The estate of the Šafran family is located on vine-growing hills around Varaždin and Zlatar (the Zagorje-Međimurje subregion of Continental Croatia). The area around Breznički Hum is very suitable for growing vineyards, due to its configuration and the south-western orientation of the fields, as is proven by land registry records showing numerous vineyards in this region as far back as the times of the Habsburg Monarchy. The Zagreb Archbishop Antun Bauer, Ph.D., was one of the vineyard and wine cellar owners in this area.

The Šafran Winery owns vineyards with a total surface area amounting to 16 hectares, with 84,500 vines of the following sorts: Graševina, Rhine Riesling, Sauvignon, Yellow Muscat, Gewürtztraminer (Aromatic Traminac), Incrocio Manzoni, Pinot Grigio, Blauberger, St. Laurent and Portugieser. The largest part of the vineyards is located on the south-western slopes of the Varaždin vine-growing area, at 250-311 m above sea level, which is considered ideal for vineyards and for cultivation of vines.
